Creativity begins when we forgive ourselves for the horrors of our first drafts.
Make the Path. Create to Live.
Unbroken Creatives is a knowledge-sharing community for writers, musicians, actors, misfits, thinkers—any artist at heart who knows the struggle of spending too much time alone in their head.
It’s for those who feel pulled to create but have wrestled with burnout, self-doubt, or the weight of expectations.
Here, we believe that creativity isn’t just a calling—it’s a way to heal, connect, and move forward.
Falling is just one step closer to balance.
I’m Jared Brown, a journalist who once thought my creative spirit was broken.
For years, I ran on adrenaline, convinced my worth was my work. I thought if I just hustled harder, sacrificed more, and numbed the weight of it all, I could make an impact. My job gave me purpose—until I realized it had consumed my life.
I thought I could outrun my exhaustion by fueling myself with rage. Instead, I hit rock bottom. Twice. And when the dust settled, I realized something: I wasn’t the problem. The system was.
The news industrial complex, like all extractive systems, thrives on trauma—convincing us that to succeed, we must give 100% of ourselves, as if there’s no other path. I saw it take from colleagues, mentors, and the subjects of our work.
Don’t fight back. Fight forward.
Unbroken Creatives is about choosing another way forward—one that nurtures resilience instead of grinding it down. It’s about re-learning how to move, breathe, and create without burning out. Right now, that looks like:
Mobility & Mindfulness
Building the mind-body connection, supporting a creative practice that perseveres.
Minimalist & Sustainable Living
Embracing ideas, products, and companies that serve us. Letting go of things that don’t.
Community & Collaboration
Learning, sharing, and making together. The creative process isn’t meant to be endured alone.
Makers’ Mantras Podcast
Exploring self-talk and affirmations that are inspiring others’ creativity and resilience.
You can’t eliminate pain, but you can create joy.
This isn’t about tuning out. It’s about tuning in—to what our bodies need, to the ways we heal, to the creativity that sustains us.
Push your limits, not your boundaries. Bend, don’t break. Stretch, don’t snap.
Make the path. Create to live.
